HOW I GET AROUND TWITTER/"X" AGE VERIFICATION
17.08.2025
Step 1: Get a VPN
This works on both Smartphones and Computers. I personally use ProtonVPN on my phone (because I'm stingy and it's got a free plan) but you can use any VPN you like, as long as it can connect you to a server in a country that does not have age-verification laws (yet). The free plan connects you to one of 5 countries. I usually stick with the United States.
Step 2: Go into your Twitter settings
Go to Settings & Privacy > Your account > Account information. Change the country there to the country you've connected to on your VPN.
Step 3: Refresh & enjoy
Do not give any of these companies your ID. Do not comply with mass surveillance and censorship rolled out under the guise of "protecting the children". Do not bend the knee.
HOW I ENJOY AD-FREE YOUTUBE

On your desktop:
Go to your broswer extensions and download ublock origin. Alternatively, use a browser with a built-in adblock like Brave (haven't personally tested it). Bonus: Use the sponsorblock extension to skip sponsored segments.
On your phone:
Follow this easy guide to install Youtube Revanced.
HOW I (plan to) QUIT SPOTIFY
17.08.2025
A few days ago, I got an e-mail from Spotify that they'll be raising the price for my current plan. I haven't been happy with Spotify for a while now, but I was always too lazy to move away from it (largely due to the sheer amount of songs I'd have to deal with) but alas, this is my sign to finally get off my ass.
I've already begun with installing newpipe (small introduction/guide here) and used Skiley to export a CSV of all my songs – but that was a while ago, so I'll need to redo it to account for all the songs I've added/removed in the time since.
To do:
- Downoad all songs (one by one.......)
- Find a good, ad-free music player app
- Find a new way to discover new music
